Schedule 04
Schedule 04: PNL Broadcast
Price, limits, and app-specific rules for PNL Broadcast, including content rights and reseller terms.
Version 2026-10-13 · Effective October 17, 2026
Part of the Proto Node Labs Terms of Service.
App: https://broadcast.protonodelabs.com. Device apps: PNL Broadcast for Android TV (com.protonodelabs.broadcast) and the "PNL Broadcast" Roku channel.
Plain summary
- $75 per month includes up to 35 boxes switched on, 100 GB of media storage, and 10 AI changes a month. Extra boxes are $2.50 each per month, extra storage is $5 per 100 GB per month (500 GB maximum), extra AI changes are $1 each and only if you turn them on. Provisioning a box is a one-time $5. A setup and build fee may apply to your account.
- A box you remove stops being billed and stops playing. Boxes we provision are fully managed: we can send commands, update them, take screenshots, read logs, and see which app is in the foreground. You must give venues and guests appropriate notice.
- Everything you play is your responsibility: you must own or license every video, image, song, and ad, including public performance licenses where they apply. Marking an asset "cleared" in the app is your statement, not our check. We will take content off air if we receive a claim.
- If you overlay content on top of third-party apps like Netflix or YouTube, you are responsible for complying with those apps' terms. We do not represent that they permit it.
- If you resell Broadcast to venues, you are a reseller: the venues are your customers, not ours. You price, support, and contract with them, pass down the minimum terms below, and cover us if they bring claims.
- The AI assistant drafts; a person confirms. It can be wrong, and we may cap its use.

- Email support under section 12 of the Terms, for the account owner and administrators only.
2. Price
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Base subscription | $75 per month |
| Included | 35 boxes switched on, 100 GB storage, 10 AI changes per month |
| Additional box | $2.50 per box per month, past 35, one at a time |
| Box provisioning | $5 one-time per box |
| Additional storage | $5 per month per extra 100 GB block, up to a 500 GB hard cap |
| Additional AI change | $1 per applied change past 10 per month, only if the owner has turned on extras |
| Setup and build fee | Quoted per account; stated on your order form or founding-rate letter |
| Hardware | Sold at our cost as stated on the invoice, plus the $5 provisioning per box |
Prices exclude taxes. The setup and build fee and provisioning fees are earned when work starts and are non-refundable (Terms section 4.8). Hardware is non-returnable to PNL once provisioned; warranty is the manufacturer's only (Terms section 4.9).
3. How quantities are counted
3.1 Box switched on. A paired device that is active in your dashboard at the nightly sync. Using "Remove this box" really disables it: it stops playing and stops counting, and a removed box is not billed. If we add a separate switch-off (pause) control, it will work the same way. A box that is paired and active but unplugged still counts until you remove it.
3.2 Storage block. Total bytes of media in your library, rounded up to the next 100 GB. The first 100 GB is included. Additional storage comes in 100 GB blocks at $5 per month each. Until in-app upgrades are available, we add blocks on your request by email, and your billing quantity and cap rise together. The dashboard warns you as you approach your limit. 500 GB is a technical hard cap; uploads beyond it are refused until you free space. Use above 500 GB is a separate conversation and price.
3.3 AI change. One draft prepared by the AI assistant that a User confirms and that the system applies (for example a new playlist, a schedule edit, an overlay rule). Questions, lookups, summaries, and reports are not changes and are never counted or billed. Drafts you reject or that fail to apply are not counted. 10 applied changes per calendar month are included. Past 10, if the owner has enabled extras, each applied change is $1, billed in arrears. If extras are off, the assistant still answers and looks things up but will not build or apply drafts until the next month.
3.4 Sync and proration. Box and storage counts sync nightly to Stripe and are prorated within the period. AI overage is a usage meter billed with your next invoice.
4. Content: your rights and licenses
4.1 You warrant your rights. You represent and warrant that for every media asset, image, video, audio track, advertisement, logo, and text you upload, schedule, overlay, or play through Broadcast, you own or have obtained every right, license, consent, and clearance needed for that use, in every venue where it plays, including: copyright in the work and in any underlying works (music composition and sound recording, footage, fonts, photos); public performance and public display rights, including licenses from performing rights organizations (such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR) where music is performed publicly; synchronization rights where music is combined with video; rights of publicity for people shown; trademark rights for brands shown; and advertiser permission for ads.
4.2 Content from streaming or video platforms. Downloading or recording content from YouTube, streaming services, broadcast television, or similar sources and uploading it to Broadcast is almost always a violation of those platforms' terms and of copyright unless you hold a specific license. You must not upload such content unless you have a written license covering public display in your venues. We may remove it on notice or on our own review.
4.3 "Cleared" is your statement. The library has rights fields and a "cleared" status, and the playback engine refuses assets that are uncleared or whose license has expired. Marking an asset cleared, or entering a license expiry, is a representation by you that the rights in 4.1 are in place for that asset through that date. PNL does not verify, review, or confirm rights, and the cleared status is not PNL's approval or opinion.
4.4 Takedown on notice. If we receive a notice, claim, complaint, or legal demand about any content, or if we reasonably believe content infringes rights or violates law or the Acceptable Use Policy, we may immediately take it off air, disable or remove it, and suspend affected playlists, boxes, or the account, with notice to you where practical. We are not liable to you for doing so. You may dispute by email and we will consider restoring content if you show the rights are in place, but we decide in our reasonable discretion and may require written proof.
4.5 Copyright notices (DMCA-style process). Rights holders who believe content on Broadcast infringes their work may send a notice to our designated agent: Maverick Jackson, Proto Node Labs LLC, 8 The Green, Suite B, Dover, DE 19901, [email protected]. The notice should include: identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the infringing content and where it appears (account, venue, asset name or URL); your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. On receipt of a compliant notice we will remove or disable the content and notify the account owner. The account owner may send a counter-notice with the same formalities, including consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the District of Delaware; if we receive one, we may restore the content after 10 business days unless the claimant tells us it has filed suit. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
4.6 Indemnity. Claims about your content, including copyright, public performance, trademark, publicity, and advertising claims, fall under your indemnity in Terms section 20, and losses from them are excluded from PNL's liability under Terms section 19.
4.7 Proof of play. Proof-of-play reports record what the system scheduled and what devices reported playing. They are generated from device telemetry and may be incomplete if a device is offline or misreports. They are provided as is and are not a guarantee of delivery to any advertiser.
4.8 Advertisers. If you sell advertising on your screens, the advertiser is your customer. You are responsible for your contracts with them, their content, and any claims they make. Advertiser contact details you store are Customer Data.
5. Third-party apps on managed devices
5.1 Boxes may have third-party apps installed (for example Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+, live TV apps). Those apps are governed by their own terms, which you and the venue accept by using them. PNL is not a party to them and does not supply, license, or control them.
5.2 Overlays. Broadcast can display overlays, tickers, and ads above other apps, including above streaming apps. PNL makes no representation that any third-party app's terms permit overlays, ads, or modifications to its display, and some platforms' terms prohibit them. If you enable overlays over third-party apps, you do so at your own risk, you are responsible for compliance with those apps' terms and with any agreement the venue has with them, and you indemnify PNL for resulting claims (Terms section 20).
5.3 Account sharing and subscriptions. You and the venue are responsible for the streaming subscriptions used on boxes, including whether a consumer subscription may be used in a commercial or hospitality setting. PNL does not supply streaming accounts.
5.4 We may disable overlay features over specific apps, or generally, if a platform requires it or we judge the legal risk too high. That is a service change under Terms section 12.3.
6. Device management and notice to venues and guests
6.1 What provisioning does. Boxes we provision are set up with device-owner control. That means Broadcast is the home screen, we can install and update apps silently, run remote commands, reboot or reset the device, take screenshots of what is on screen, collect logs and crash reports, see network state, and receive a heartbeat that includes which app is in the foreground (for example that a guest is watching Netflix), the device's hardware identifier, model, and last IP address. The box regularly contacts our servers.
6.2 Why. These capabilities exist to keep screens running, update content, diagnose problems, and produce proof of play. They are used for operating the service, not for watching individuals.
6.3 Your notice obligations. Because screenshots and foreground-app reports can reveal what a guest or employee is watching, you must give venues, and venues must give guests and staff, appropriate notice that the screen is a managed device whose operation is monitored remotely. Where a venue is a hotel or other place of lodging, the notice should be visible in the room or in the venue's guest terms. Suggested notice text:
This TV is managed remotely by [venue or reseller name] using PNL Broadcast. The managing service can see the device's status, update its software, and capture the screen for support and content verification. Do not sign in to personal accounts on this device unless you are comfortable with that. Sign out before you leave.
This is a convenience, not legal advice. We do not warrant that it satisfies any law.
6.4 Guest accounts. Neither you nor PNL should collect guests' streaming credentials. If a venue offers streaming apps on a managed box, it is responsible for clearing sign-ins between guests. We may offer a feature that resets apps between stays; its availability is not guaranteed.
6.5 Restrictions. You will not use device management features to monitor identifiable individuals, to capture screens for any purpose other than operating and supporting the service, or in any way prohibited by law. We may suspend device features we believe are being misused.
6.6 Device data retention. Heartbeats, logs, and screenshots are operational data. By default we keep screenshots for 30 days and logs for 90 days, then delete them. You can choose longer periods, or keep them until you delete them, in Settings. We may also keep them for an open support case or legal hold.
7. Hardware
7.1 Sold at cost, manufacturer warranty only. We may supply streaming boxes at the price stated on your invoice, which reflects our cost plus the $5 provisioning fee. Title passes on delivery. The only warranty is the manufacturer's, which you pursue directly with the manufacturer or retailer. PNL gives no warranty on hardware and is not responsible for defects, failures, or incompatibilities.
7.2 Risk of loss. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. Boxes installed in venues are your responsibility, including theft, damage, and power.
7.3 Your own hardware. You may provision your own compatible devices. Provisioning wipes the device and makes PNL the device owner for management purposes; back up anything on it first. We are not responsible for devices that are not on our compatible list.
7.4 Return of control. When you switch off or remove a box, or when your subscription ends, the device remains provisioned until you factory reset it. Factory reset instructions are in the dashboard. We may also remotely unenroll devices after termination.
8. Reseller terms
If you offer Broadcast screens to third-party venues, hotels, restaurants, or other businesses that are not your own locations (each a "Venue"), you are a reseller, and this section applies in addition to the rest of the Terms.
8.1 Your customers, not ours. Venues are your customers. You alone set prices for Venues, contract with them, invoice them, install and support their screens, and handle their questions. PNL does not deal with Venues, has no obligation to them, and will not provide them support. The dashboard's "Help with this TV" tools exist so you can support Venues; they are not a PNL support channel for Venues.
8.2 No rights for Venues. Venues, their staff, and their guests are not PNL customers, are not third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and have no rights or claims against PNL. Any claim a Venue has about the screens, content, or service is a claim against you.
8.3 Flow-down. You will have a written agreement with each Venue, before any screen goes live there, that at minimum: (a) names you (not PNL) as the provider; (b) requires the Venue to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and sections 4, 5, and 6 of this Schedule as applied to it; (c) places responsibility for content rights, streaming subscriptions, third-party app terms, and notice to guests and staff on the Venue or on you, never on PNL; (d) disclaims warranties and limits liability on PNL's behalf at least as protectively as Terms sections 18 and 19; (e) permits the device management described in section 6 and requires the Venue to post notice; (f) states that Venue data may be stored in your account on a platform operated by PNL; and (g) lets you (and therefore PNL) take content off air and disable devices on notice of a claim. You will provide a copy to us on request.
8.4 Your license to resell. During your subscription, PNL grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to market and provide Broadcast screens to Venues under your own name and pricing, using the dashboard and devices on your account. You may not sublicense the dashboard itself, give Venues access to PNL's platform other than through screens you manage, represent yourself as PNL or as PNL's agent, or make commitments on PNL's behalf.
8.5 Venue data. Data about Venues, their advertisers, their guests, and what plays on their screens is your Customer Data. You are the controller or business for it, and you are responsible for your obligations to Venues and individuals about it.
8.6 Reseller indemnity. In addition to Terms section 20, you will defend, indemnify, and hold PNL harmless from all claims by or relating to Venues, Venue staff, guests, advertisers, content owners, performing rights organizations, and third-party app or platform providers arising from screens, content, devices, or services you provide to Venues.
8.7 Billing is to you. PNL bills you for all boxes, storage, provisioning, hardware, and AI usage on your account regardless of what Venues pay you or whether they pay you.
8.8 End of your subscription. If your subscription ends, screens at Venues stop playing when access ends. You are responsible for telling Venues and for any obligations to them. PNL will not take Venues on as direct customers unless it agrees to in writing.
9. AI assistant
9.1 The assistant (powered by Anthropic models) can answer questions about your library, playlists, schedules, and devices, generate reports, and prepare drafts of changes. Terms section 11 applies.
9.2 Drafts must be confirmed. The assistant never applies a change by itself. A User reviews the draft and confirms it. You are responsible for what you confirm, including whether content in a confirmed playlist is cleared and whether a schedule is appropriate for a venue.
9.3 Included and overage. 10 applied changes per calendar month are included as a courtesy. Overage of $1 per applied change applies only after the account owner turns on extras in settings. Questions, lookups, and reports are always free.
9.4 Caps. To control cost and abuse, we may limit the assistant, including a maximum number of draft attempts per conversation (currently 5), daily limits per workspace, and monthly limits. We may pause the assistant for an account that hits those limits, and we may change the limits. The assistant is not an SLA-backed feature and may be unavailable.
9.5 What the assistant sees. The assistant receives the parts of your library, playlist, schedule, and device data needed to answer. That data is sent to the model provider under our agreement with them and is not used to train models under those terms.
10. Storage, backups, and export
10.1 Media is stored in cloud object storage. Tiers and the 500 GB cap are in section 3.2. We may compress or transcode media for playback; originals are kept where storage allows.
10.2 Nightly encrypted backups are retained 35 days (daily) and 13 months (monthly). Backups are for disaster recovery of the service and are not a per-customer restore service, though we will help where we reasonably can.
10.3 Export: media files, playlists, schedules, proof-of-play data, and device lists can be exported on request under Terms section 7.7 during your subscription and the 30-day retention window. Media downloads above 100 GB may be provided over several days or by other means we agree.
11. Limits
- Boxes: no hard cap; overage applies past 35.
- Storage: 500 GB hard cap.
- AI: limits in section 9.4.
- Upload file size and format limits are shown in the app and may change.
- Devices make frequent requests to our servers; we may throttle devices that misbehave.
12. Data this app collects
Device hardware ID, model, last IP, heartbeat and foreground app, network state, crash text, screenshots and logs on request; media files and their rights metadata; playlists and schedules; proof-of-play events; advertiser contact names and emails; audit log entries with IP; AI assistant conversations; User account records. See the Privacy Policy.
13. Roku and other platforms
The Roku channel plays content assigned to it and reports playback. Roku devices are not provisioned with device-owner control, so sections 6.1 and 7 apply to them only to the extent the Roku platform allows. Roku's own terms apply to the device and channel store. Terms section 26 applies.
